general question about coding chat in vb.net

since i did most of the work in vb6 , i was thinking are the procedure same in vb.net , the way we code or is it totally different.


i have coded in the past in vb.net what i dont like about it is it laggs to much and loading time is not good at all i have no patience , when making a chat programme do i add reference to winsock or or how do i add winsock + how do i programme 1 is there a basic multi chat example for vb.net since 1 member here said vb.net supports multi threading can handle large request or users.:wave::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
